Celkon is getting ready to be a part of Android One bandwagon. It will launch Celkon Android One smartphone in January.
Murali Retineni, executive director at Celkon Mobiles said to The Mobile Indian, “Our Android One smartphone will come preloaded in Android Lollipop and will have the same specification and pricing as the other smartphones which are a part of Android One program.”
Smartphones launched under the Google’s Android One program by Spice, Karbonn and Micromax have 4.5 inch display with 480×854 pixels resolution,1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, Mali-400MP graphics, 1GB RAM, 4 GB internal storage and have an expandable storage slot that can accommodate a micro SD card of up to 32 GB capacity.
They also sport 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2 megapixel front-facing camera. Strangely one needs a Micro SD card to store pictures clicked in all the Android One smartphones that are available in the market. These phones have a 1700 mAh battery.
According to reports, Karbon, Spice and and Micromax smartphones which are a part of Android One program will get the Android Lollipop OTA update from Mid-December onwards.
Other Handset makers who have announced that they will be pushing Android Lollipop update are Asus for Zenfone Series, Sony for Xperia Z and Z Compact, HTC for One M8 and M7.
The Android 5.0 so far has been released for Google’s Nexus devices and Motorola’s Moto X and Moto G.
