Canon launches four new cameras in PowerShot and IXUS series in India

The company has launched the PowerShot G9 X Mark II, PowerShot SX430 IS, the IXUS 190 and IXUS 185 digital cameras in India.

Canon has added four new members to its PowerShot and IXUS series with the launch of the PowerShot G9 X Mark II, PowerShot SX430 IS, the IXUS 190 and IXUS 185 digital cameras in India. The PowerShot G9 Mark II falls in the premium digital compact cameras and is priced at Rs 30,995, while the PowerShot SX430 IS comes with a price tag of Rs 14,995. The IXUS 190 and IXUS 185 are priced at Rs 8,995 and Rs 6,995 respectively. All the cameras will be available from February onwards in both online and offline marketplace.

The PowerShot G9 X Mark II features the latest Digic 7 processor, which the company claims produces high-quality images and high-precision tracking performance for detecting moving subjects. The image also makes continuous shooting of 8.1 possible, making it easier for users to track and capture fast moving subjects. The camera comes with dual sensing image stabilisation (IS) which provides 3.5 stops of image stabilisation when shooting still images. The dual sensing technology works by using two types processing: A gyro sensor that detects physical vibration and a new algorithm that utilises information from the image sensor to compensate for image blur.

The camera comes with touchscreen and is equipped with 8 pre-set styles, which is found in the company’s DSLR range. The PowerShot G9 X Mark II comes with a 20.1-megapixel of CMOS sensor, while lens has a focal length of 28-84mm. On the connectivity front, the device support Wi-Fi, NFC and uses low energy technology a faster Wi-Fi connection between cameras and mobile devices. The camera measures 98.0 x 57.9 x 31.3mm and weighs approx. 206grams.

On the other hand, the PowerShot SX430 IS comes equipped with a 45x wide zoom lens, which makes it easier to click landscape photos. The camera comes with Digic 4+ image processor and boasts an image sensor of 20.0 megapixel CCD sensor. The camera comes with a lens ranging from 24-1080mm and is equipped with Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity for sharing files on the go. The device comes with a 7.6cm LCD and can capture video at 25 frames per second (fps).

The IXUS 190 and IXUS 185 are the point-and-shoot cameras and both of them are powered by DIGIC 4+ image processor and a 20 megapixel CCD image sensor. The camera uses Canon’s ZoomPlus technology, which offers double the zoom range without a noticeable loss in image quality. For those new to photography, the IXUS 190 and IXUS 185 has an easy Auto mode, which disables all non-essential buttons, thus making it easy for users to simply point and shoot.
