After launching the EOS RP full-frame mirrorless camera in February, Canon has now announced its entry into the instant camera segment with the launch of the new IVY product lineup. The new Canon IVY lineup brings with it the Canon IVY CLIQ and IVY CLIQ Plus Instant Camera Printers which will rival Fujifilm for its Instax mini-film cameras.
The Canon IVY CLIQ will be available for a price of $99.99 (approx. Rs 6,900) while the Canon IVY CLIQ+ will sell for $159.99 (approx. Rs 11,000). Both cameras will come with a starter pack of 10 2×3 photo sheets while additional packs will cost as low as $9.98 (approx. Rs 700) for 20 ZINK papers.
The cheaper Canon IVY CLIQ will feature a 5-megapixel sensor and can print pictures in 2 x 2 or 2 x 3 formats. The came comes with expandable storage through a microSD card and has a mirror positioned on the front for selfies. There’s a USB port for charging and an optical viewfinder for framing your shots. The Canon IVY CLIQ will be available in Bumblebee Yellow, Seaside Blue and Lady Bug Red colours.
The Canon IVY CLIQ+ Instant Camera Printer is the higher-end model which features a larger 8-megapixel sensor and an LED light ring for better-lit selfies. The light ring features eight LED which lights up differently depending on the lighting conditions. The Canon IVY CLIQ+ will be available in Pearl White, Sapphire Blue, and Ruby Red colours.
While the Plus model only features the same optical viewfinder to frame the picture, it comes with Bluetooth and App compatibility. This means, the CLIQ+ Instant Camera Printer can connect to your phone wirelessly and users will also be able to remotely shoot, add frames, filters and customise their instant prints using the Canon Mini Print app on their phone. Users also have a microSD card slot for additional storage and the same can be used to save digital copies of your pictures.
