Canon has today announced the launch of its latest mirrorless camera in India. Dubbed as Canon EOS M200, the mirrorless camera is available for purchase at a starting price of Rs 43,995.
The base model with EF-M15-45 IS STM kit lens is priced at Rs 43,995, while the EF-M15-45 IS STM + EF-M55-200 IS STM kit lenses come with a price tag of Rs 57,995. The Canon EOS M200 comes with a 24.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and is powered by a DIGIC 8 Imaging Processor. The camera comes with increased Autofocus points of 123 with eye-detect autofocus for focusing on people.
EOS M200 can capture video with up to 24 fps. One can also shoot time-lapse videos in 4K resolution. Furthermore, one can also shoot vertical videos which can be played vertically on smartphones without the need for any editing apps.
The camera features Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Eye Detection AF that ensures the subject’s eyes are always in focus while tracking moving subjects. The feature works with both video and photos. It comes with Creative Assist function that helps users easily adjust camera settings and select from a range of different photography styles. Then there is Silent Shooting mode through which the camera can shoot still images with minimal sound.
The EOS M200 comes with a rechargeable Li-Ion Battery LP-E12 which the company says will last up to 90 minutes of video recording and 315 still shots on a single charge. There’s an LCD touchscreen which can be flipped 180 degrees, ideal for vlogging.
Canon’s M200 camera can connect to smart devices via Bluetooth and WiFi using the Canon Camera Connect App on Android and iOS. Images can be automatically sent to a smartphone as they are taken and the connection between the devices can be maintained even when the camera is off. The app allows users to shoot videos and pictures remotely.
