Keeping aside all the warm reception and commendable sales Google is witnessing with its Pixel devices, it doesn’t seem to be a bug-free device. After LTE connectivity issues last month, some Pixel users are now reporting of a new camera freeze issue. A thread started by one of the users on community forums, the camera on Pixel and Pixel XL freezes with pink/purple verticle lines. The issue has taken place often enough, if not all the time, to make it a major issue.
One of the users tried wiping cache, data and even did a factory reset only to experience the issue again. Further, he claimed that even Safe Mode is also not a solution for this issue. After the initial bunch of users, the thread was soon flooded with other users reporting about the issue as well.
As per the forum thread, this issue generally happens when one is trying to click pictures in an area with poor signal reception. Moreover, when clicked with the Aeroplane Mode turned on, the issue seems to have solved.
On a good note, a Google representative commented that they will investigate the issue and come with a solution as soon as possible. The forum thread hasn’t been updated since so we don’t what really happened, post that. Nevertheless, we hope Google will address the issue quickly and release a fix as soon as possible.
Apart from this and LTE issues, last week another weird issue regarding images sent from an iPhone 7 plus to Pixel came up in the news.
