On the occasion of the Cricket World Cup, BSNL is offering users access to live cricket matches on Hotstar through a new broadband plan. The state-run operator is rolling out a new Superstar 300 Fibre broadband plan which will bring data benefits as well as video streaming services to users.
The new Fibre broadband plan which BSNL has labelled as Superstar 300 can be availed on payment of Rs 749 per month. The Superstar 300 plan provides users with 300GB of data on a monthly basis with speeds of up to 50 Mbps, reports TelecomTalk.
BSNL notes that the Rs 749 Fibre broadband plan offers unlimited data, meaning after the 300GB limit, users will be provided data at 2 Mbps speeds.
The highlight of the plan, however, comes in the form of free subscription of Hotstar Premium. With Hotstar Premium, users will get free access to Live TV, Live Sports including Cricket, Premier League, F1, Tennis and more as well as other premium titles inside Movies and TV Shows.
Prior to this, BSNL withdrew daily limits on Rs 777 and Rs 1,277 broadband plans and instead offered monthly data FUPs. The state-run operator also started offering free broadband service to all its landline subscribers in India, providing 5GB of data at speeds of up to 10Mbps.
Furthermore, BSNL has enabled satellite broadband connectivity in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep through a partnership with Hughes Communications to address the growing Bandwidth demand in the island regions.
