BSNL quietly alters Rs 98 prepaid plan with 2GB daily data for 24 days

The data-only plan is labelled as “Data Tsunami” by the state-run operator and can be availed on a recharge of Rs 98. BSNL is offering a daily data usage of 2GB at high speeds post which the speeds will come down to 80 kbps. There are no call benefits with the Rs 98 plan.

BSNL has been struggling to live up to its name in the service provider market and has thus been revamping its offering for some time now. Its latest effort is the revamping of its Rs 98 prepaid plan which now offers 2GB of data per day for 24 days with some additional bundled service.

The data-only plan is labelled as “Data Tsunami” by the state-run operator and can be availed on a recharge of Rs 98. BSNL is offering a daily data usage of 2GB at high speeds post which the speeds will come down to 80 kbps. There are no call benefits with the Rs 98 plan and users will have to make do with their usual call rates when using this recharge pack.

Additionally, the BSNL Rs 98 Data Tsunami plan comes with a bundled Eros Now subscription which will be available during the course of the validity for free offering video content for users to enjoy. Interested users will need to download the Eros Now and sign in with their BSNL prepaid plan credentials.

Prior to this, the Rs 98 data-only STV only offered up to 1.5GB of data per day but for a longer validity of 26 days. The bundled Eros Now subscription was only previously only available on the Rs 78 prepaid plan but has since been brought on to the Rs 333 and Rs 444 prepaid recharges.

The Rs 98 data-only prepaid plan should not be confused with BSNL’s Rs 99 prepaid plan which was revised last month. While this plan offers unlimited calling across any network with free access to PRBT (personalised ring back tone), there are no data offers involved. The Rs 99 prepaid plan is available with a validity of 24 days as well, just like the aforementioned Rs 98 plan.
