BSNL launches Wings app, offers one month of free service to its customers

The company has revealed that customers will get one month of free Wings services, though the service will be available at an initial one-time annual fee of Rs 1099 plus GST once the free period is over.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the launch of its new Wings application in India on Google Play Store. As a part of the introductory offer, the state-owned telecom operator is providing one free month of free Wings service to its new customers.

To recall, BSNL introduced Wings Internet Telephony service in the country last year. The service basically allows users to make and receive calls over the internet and it employs Mobile numbering scheme with the help of IP-specific access network of IMS NGN Core switches. With this, users can make calls using a tablet, laptop or smartphone with an active internet connection.

The company has revealed that customers will get one month of free Wings services, though the service will be available at an initial one-time annual fee of Rs 1099 plus GST once the free period is over. In order to subscribe to BSNL Wings, users will have to go to the company’s official website and enter key details like State, code, email-ID and Mobile Number. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number.

Thereafter, users need to upload various documents like Color Passport size photograph, Proof of Identity (POI), Proof of Address (POA) and valid ID card. Customers will then need to select their ‘Wings’ choice number, which will be of 10 digits. After that, they will get a Unique PIN code on the mobile number that can be used to login into the BSNL Wings application. Once you enter it, you will be able to enjoy free voice calling benefits for one month. The operator has revealed that it will give special discounts to the central government, PSU employees and students.
