Spanish handset maker BQ has announced a new smartphone at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, named as Aquaris X5 Plus. Last year, the company launched Ubuntu operating system based Aquaris E4.5 and Aquaris E5 smrtphones in India at Rs 11,999 and Rs 13,499 respectively.
BQ Aquaris X5 Plus features a 5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by the 1.4 GHz octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 652 processor and Adreno 510 GPU. The device comes in two RAM variants, 2 GB and 3 GB. Both the two variants have 16GB/32GB/64GB as internal storage options which can be further expandable via a micro SD card.. The Aquaris X5 Plus sports premium looks with all-metal unibody design and also features a fingerprint sensor for enhanced security on the back.
The smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system and is packed with a 3100 mAh battery supporting Quick Charge 2.0 technology. BQ Aquaris X5 Plus flaunts an 16-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX298 sensor and dual-tone LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G/LTE, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), NFC, micro-USB port, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS/A-GPS. The smartphone measures 145 x 70 x 7.7 mm and weighs around 150 grams.
BQ Aquaris X5 Plus will be available in three color combinations, black and anthracite gray, white and silver and white and pink gold. However the company has not revealed any official release date for the smartphone.
