BlackBerry has been working on the large screen BlackBerry Z30 smartphone that will bring many firsts for the company. One of these first-time items will include Qi wireless charging support. The Wireless Power Consortium listed BlackBerry Z30 smartphone to support the Qi Wireless Charging standard as spotted by Crackberry. BlackBerry Z30’s existence is not a secret anymore.
BlackBerry may be going through a rough time but the company looks ahead to provide the best possible technologies in BlackBerry handsets. The BlackBerry 10.2 OS running BlackBerry Z30 is touted to be the first 5 inch AMOLED Display and is powered by a dual core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 mobile processor with Adreno 225 graphics that supports 1080p HD video playback.
The Wireless Power Consortium listing points toward support for the Qi Wireless Charging standard for BlackBerry Z30. However, it is not clear whether the back panel of the phone will support direct charging or whether one has to buy the charging jacket separately. The Qi Wireless Charging basically enables charging the smartphone through the inductive electrical power transfer.
A select number of smartphones such as Google Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S4, Nokia Lumia 920, HTC Windows Phone 8X and a few others support the Qi Wireless Charging standard. BlackBerry will also join this club with its Z30 smartphone.
