BlackBerry has released a new update for its BlackBerry Messenger for Android. The new BlackBerry Messenger App version 2.2 for Android makes it easier for users to add friends via email and also enjoy few new emoticons. Besides that, the users get the usual under the hood performance improvement updates.
BlackBerry Messenger has been updated for the Android platform which is kind of surprising since the company is yet to release the same for BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 platform. BlackBerry has promised to release similar update for the Apple iOS platform as well.
The new BBM version 2.2 app brings easy way to create an account with the BlackBerry to use the Messenger. Following that, the users can invite their friends using their email addresses instead of looking out for the BBM PIN or sharing one.
BlackBerry team has also added 16 new emoticons to the BBM lovers. The new BBM version 2.2 update for the Android users will be made live later today in the Google Play Store.
