BlackBerry has finally released the BlackBerry Messenger App for the Windows Phone platform based devices. However, BlackBerry Messenger is currently released as beta version for the Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 based devices. The BBM Beta is live and can be downloaded from the Windows Phone store.
BlackBerry and Microsoft had announced to make the popular BBM app available for Windows Phone devices a well. The BBM was released for iOS and Android platform last October. And finally, after nine months, the BBM app is made available for Windows Phone platform that too in beta stage.
Certainly it is a win for the Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 based devices owners, but those users may not be able to enjoy all features of the BBM. Windows Phone platform gets yet another multi-platform app but in beta stage. The popular Instagram is still in the beta stage for the Windows Phone platform.
BBM is currently available on BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10, Android, iOS and now, Windows Phone platforms. This mobile instant messenger has to compete with WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, Viber, Hike and many such mobile instant Messaging services.
