EA Games is out with yet another masterpiece launching the Battlefield 1. The game is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC platform for a price tag of around Rs 3,900 across the globe.
Battlefield 1 is what a gamer might call a true first-person shooter that encourages teamwork. Going back to the prequels of this game such as Battlefield 4, Battlefield: Bad Company, it follows the same style.
World War 1 is where this game takes place and provides you with a fully immersive experience by putting you into the shoes of privates, generals and other rank officers. Players have to play with guns dating back to the WW1 era such as flamethrowers, sabres and bolt-action rifles. Players also get a chance of experiencing the air battles and the bomb drops by getting into biplane aircraft, jumping onto horses and riding into the battle with swords as well as fighting in battleships.
The game’s multiplayer is planned to support up to whopping 64 players. The new squad system allows a group of players to enter and leave game servers together.
Without being disingenuous, Battlefield 1 captures all the grit and valour of battle. All in all, the great war deserved a game like this as it confidently forgoes pomp of patriotism and the fetishization of war that we see in other games following similar concepts.
While all the other games try to make a grand statement about the war while making the ugly sites into fun adventures, Battlefield 1 handles it with perfection by using the storytelling in a very clever manner to maintain the balance in the force.
