Asus launched Zenfone Max Pro (M1) in India earlier this year with Android 8.1 Oreo on board. Now a customer service representative of the company has confirmed that the phone will receive the Android 9.0 Pie update in February 2019.
In October, the company confirmed that it will roll out Android Pie for ZenFone Max Pro M1, but an exact time frame was not revealed at that time. Now according to the company, the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) will not receive Android Pie any time before next year.
If a leaked chat with a customer support representative of Asus is to be believed, the Android Pie update for ZenFone Max Pro M1 is expected to be rolled out before the end of February next year. Further, as per the chat, the update for the phone is still under testing.
Asus has already confirmed that its flagship Zenfone 5z will be receiving the update in January 2019. So the company is very likely to roll out Android Pie for ZenFone Max Pro M1 in February.
To recall, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a screen Resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with near stock experience and it is backed up by 5000mAh battery.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Processor along with Adreno 509 GPU. The smartphone has a dual rear camera setup with 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for bokeh effects. There is an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling.
