Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie expected to launch on September 14

The company is all set to compete with the likes of Vivo, Oppo, and Gionee with the launch of its latest Zenfone 4 Selfie series.

We reported earlier that Asus is all set to launch Zenfone 4 series in India on September 14, however, it was not known whether the company will launch the whole series or just a few handsets. However, our sources have hinted that it might be Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro.

The company has recently sent out media invites for the event. The invite carries a tagline “#DitchTheSelfieStick’, which hints that the company will launch the above-mentioned smartphones. To recall, the company announced six smartphones Zenfone 4 Pro, Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 Selfie, Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, Zenfone 4 Max and Zenfone 4 Max Pro.

With this, the company is all set to compete with the likes of Vivo, Oppo, and Gionee, which have a strong presence in the selfie-centric smartphones. Vivo recently launched V7+, which comes with a 24-megapixel moonlight selfie camera. Oppo has F3 and F3 Plus, while Gionee has its A1 series including A1, A1 Lite, and A1 Plus.

To recollect some key specifications, Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro feature dual-camera setup at the front. The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro can take 24-megapixel selfies by using a 12-megapixel Sony IMX362 sensor. There is a 5-megapixel secondary camera for selfies, which the company calls “welfies”. The regular Zenfone 4 Selfies comes loaded with a 20-megapixel front camera along with an 8-megapixel secondary camera for selfies and video calling. On the rear panel, there is a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF.

The global variant of the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro features a 5.5-inch Full HD and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, while the Zenfone 4 Selfie features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. Both the devices come loaded with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Both of them are backed by a 3000mAh battery and carries a fingerprint sensor on the front. On the connectivity front, both the devices support VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 4.0, GPS and slot.
