A month after announcing the TUF FX505DY and FX705DY Gaming laptops in India, Asus has launched new ROG Strix Scar III and ROG Hero III gaming laptops with 9th-gen Intel Core CPUs and Nvidia RTX GPUs. Both the Strix SCAR III and Strix Hero III laptops will come in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch configurations with Intel Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 CPUs.
The new ROG Strix Scar III and Hero III gaming laptops will come with the latest 9th Generation Intel Core mobile processors namely the Core i9-9880H, Core i7-9750H and Core i5-9300H which will available across GW, GV and GU models of both. In terms of graphics, the Scar III and Hero III notebooks will feature up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM but users can also choose the RTX 2060 with 6GB VRAM or the latest GTX 1660Ti with 6GB VRAM.
The Scar III and Hero III laptops also come with FHD IPS panels of sizes 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch with a Refresh Rate of up to 240Hz, 3ms response time and 100 percent sRGB colour gamut. The notebooks come with a Backlit chiclet keyboard with Per-Key RGB lighting, Aura Sync, 4 Zone RGB and an N-key rollover. Both laptops come with 2 x 4W speakers with smart amplifier technology and a 66Wh 4-cell lithium-ion battery.
The laptops also equip up to 32GB DDR4 2666MHz SDRAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB SSD storage options with Intel 802.11ac (2×2) Gigabit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 for connectivity. Additional connectivity includes a Type‑C USB 3.1 Gen 2 with DP support, three Type‑A USB 3.1 Gen 1, an HDMI 2.0 port, a 3.5mm Audio Jack, an Audio Jack mic-in, an RJ45 LAN port and a Keystone port.
The new ROG Strix Scar III will be available in Gunmetal Grey with carbon-weave styling while the Hero III is finished in midnight black with a stealthy cyber-text pattern.
