Asus has started rolling out stable Android Pie update for its first gaming-centric phone – the Asus ROG Phone. Where another handset players are rolling out Android 10 update to their smartphones, ROG Phone is now getting a taste of Pie. The smartphone was launched last year with Android 8.1 Oreo.
The Android Pie update announcement was made via a post on the Asus ZenTalk community forum. The new firmware comes with 16.0410.1910.91 build number and it is an OTA update. The changelog shared by Asus doesn’t reveal if the update also brings an updated Android security patch.
As per the changelog, the update Removes Page Marker, ZeniMoji, Report Location in Safeguard, weather animation setting, AI Charging. It also removes the Yandex cloud operation of File Manager application. It upgrades Game Center to Armoury Crate with whole new design.
Moving on, the update also adds“Adaptive brightness”, “Adaptive Battery”, “New notifications”, “Status bar icon manager”, “Screen recorder”, and “Local backup” in Settings. It upgrades Game Genie panel with new design and features, adds Android P “Swipe up on Home button” gesture.
The update supports 24-hour forecast in Weather application, revamps Mobile Manager, Contacts, File Manager, Calculator, Clock, Gallery, and Weather applications and redesigns volume control panel.
