Asus launched its gaming smartphone, ROG Phone in June last year. Now the company is reported to launch its successor, Asus ROG Phone 2 in China on July 23.
This new gaming smartphone will be launched at an event in Beijing, China, reports DigiTimes. The company has already announced its partnership with Tencent Games for the creation of the next generation ROG Phone gaming smartphone.
After the launch, Asus will reportedly showcase the phone at ChinaJoy 2019 expo in Shanghai on August 1, which is the largest game show in mainland China. The phone will be showcased to approximately 400,000 eSports players at the expo.
The Asus ROG Phone 2 will reportedly come in two variants, with the base model having a price tag of RMB 4,399 (around Rs 44,300).
In a recent Weibo post, Asus announced that the ROG Phone 2 would feature a 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, ROG Phone came with a 90Hz refresh rate. The specifications of the upcoming smartphone are scarce at the moment, but it is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SOC, paired with up to 12GB RAM. The phone might have cooling system and a glowing Asus logo, like its predecessor. The next ROG Phone could feature a triple camera since last year’s model equipped a dual-camera setup.
