Asus has formally announced the new PadFone Infinity in Taipei, Taiwan. The new Asus PadFone Infinity boasts of powerful specifications to deliver smooth and pleasing performance. Asus announced to sell the unlocked PadFone Infinity for $640 approximately (Rs 40,500) and the tablet dock will cost $240 (Rs 15,200) extra.
The new PadFone Infinity has a 5-inch Super IPS panel display with 1080p HD natively resolution. This smartphone is powered by a quad-core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system-on-chip and 2 GB RAM. Asus has offered the PadFone Infinity in 16 GB and 32 GB storage options – both of which come with a Memory card slot.
The PadFone Infinity has a 13 megapixel camera with LED Flash and f/2.0 aperture. This camera is capable of clicking great quality images and full 1080p HD videos. In the front, it has a 2 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. Besides, the phone has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and SonicMaster Audio technology for better sound output.
The dock needs to be purchased separately to use the smartphone’s data connection on a larger display. Asus will also offer support for tri-band (800/1800/2600) 4G LTE network in select markets. The PadFone Infinity will be offered in Titanium Black and Platinum White options. By default, it runs the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update and hopefully should get the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.
Asus has kept several specifications same as the first generation PadFone Infinity. Like the new PadFone Infinity will have 2400 mAh battery. As of now, the company has not clarified the markets it will be targeting to offer the new PadFone Infinity.
