ASUS may launch Transformer 2 tab on November 7

The new 10.1-inch display bearing ASUS Transformer 2 TF201 will come with Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and most likely to come Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

ASUS Eee Pad TF201 Transformer 2 pre-order page has gone live at UK based online retailer’s website. LambdaTek. SlashGear noticed the pre-order listing and found out that the ASUS Eee Pad TF201 Transformer 2 tablet will arrive in stores on November 7. The Transformer 2 tablet will feature Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC processor coupled with Google 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

ASUStek Computer CEO Jerry Shen stated earlier this month that the company is committed towards introducing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based Transformer 2 tablet at the end of 2011. Samsung and Google cancelled their respective announcements of Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in past two days. However, other brands would be having their products to be launched sometime early next month.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2 TF201 online listing points at the November 7 availability of the tablet for purchase. We can expect to see the Transformer 2 tablet launch in the first week of next month.

The new ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2 will house a five core bearing Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC chip codenamed as Kal-El. The listing offers bit more details like the tablet will have 10.1 inch touchscreen display, 1 RAM, and obviously the Tegra 3 processor.

However, there is a bit of confusion between the listing and Shen’s words. Though the listing states Android 3.x Honeycomb will come loaded while Shen hinted Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

ASUS has already launched the Eee Pad Transformer TF101 in India and available now for Rs 29,990 approximately. We can anticipate the arrival of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2 by the year end or early next year for India.
