Asus announces six tablets with Android KitKat, 64 bit processor

Two of the new tablets are said to be made available this month itself but their price and availability details have not been revealed by Asus.

Asus has announced two two new Fonepad, MeMO pad and Transformer tablets at the ongoing technology trade show – Computex 2014. The latest Fonepad 7 (FE375CG), Fonepad 8 (FE380CG), Transformer Pad (TF103C/ TF303CL), and MeMO Pad 7 and 8 (ME176C and ME181C) feature the Asus ZenUI, a 64-bit Intel Atom quad-core and 4.4 KitKat operating system.

The Asus Fonepad 7 (FE375CG) and Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) come with 7-inch and 8-inch display respectively but with the same 800×1280 pixel resolution. Also both of them have the same 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 5 rear camera and 2 megapixel front-camera. The tablets will be available in Black, White, Gold and Red.

The Asus MeMO Pad 7 (ME176C) and MeMO Pad 8 (ME181C) will be available from mid-June and come with 7 and 8 inch display respectively. These 64-bit CPU Android tablets feature 64-bit Intel Atom Z3745 processor (up to 1.86GHz, quad-core) and 1280 x 800 IPS displays. The 8-inch Asus MeMO Pad 8 (ME581CL) has connectivity and weighs just 299 grams. It features the 64-bit CPU Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz quad-core processor, and 802.11ac WiFi and wireless Near-Field Communications (NFC).

The 2013 model of Asus Fonepad 7 currently retailing for about Rs 13,000 with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. A dual version of the tablet with Android 4.3 is also available for around Rs 12,000.

The new Asus Transformer Pad models (TF103C/TF303CL) feature a new mobile keyboard dock with a hidden hinge design, and are powered by the latest 64-bit Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor (up to 1.86GHz). The tablets themselves measure just 257.4 x 178.4 x 9.9mm, and are slightly thicker at 19.8mm when docked. The new keyboard dock has ergonomic chiclet keys with 1.9mm of key travel, and includes intuitive one-touch function keys for common tasks like Delete or Screen Grab. The Asus Transformer Pad TF103C is available in black or white, and the ASUS Transformer Pad TF303CL comes in blue or gold.

The Transformer Pad TF103C has an HD 1280 x 800 display with IPS technology for 170-degree wide viewing angles. This improves on color accuracy for more vibrant hues, with minimal color shift even when viewed from extreme angles.

It also has 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi giving fast, reliable connections for a smoother online experience, while integrated GPS and receivers provide fast, location services with pinpoint accuracy. The Transformer Pad TF303CL has a Full HD IPS display with 178-degree wide viewing angles.
