According to technology blogger Eldar Murtazin, Nokia and Microsoft are in talks over a possible alliance. If it is formed, the alliance would turn out to be complicated and tough.
Eldar Murtazin says Nokia may even leave MeeGo in the lurch by concentrating instead on developing hardware based on Windows Phone 7 OS.
As a result, Microsoft may have to open Windows Phone 7 to Nokia and Ovi App store developers. People haven’t seen Microsoft leaving so much control to others so one had better wait and watch over the rumoured alliance.
Earlier this year there was a proposed alliance between Nokia and Microsoft to install Microsoft Office suite on Nokia’s E-series phones so that Nokia could counter similar services on Blackberry from Research in Motion.
According to Eldar Murtazin, discussions about possible cooperation between the two companies started last month at the initiation of the new management of Nokia, which sees it as more than just technological cooperation; for there seem to be plans to sell a range of Windows phones through Nokia’s channels.
Are Nokia and Microsoft going to be allies
Russian technology blogger Eldar Murtazin says Nokia and Microsoft are discussing a possible alliance that may prove to be a huge blow to MeeGo.
