Barnes and Noble has announced that it has almost doubled the total number of apps for its e-book reader and tablet Nook Color. The e-reader tablet Nook Color, which runs on Android operating system, will also have its magazine and electronic books offering strengthened.
The list of new apps includes some popular ones such as Fandango, Evernote and Seesmic, and a Nook Color exclusive as well — Ace Hearts — and numerous new applications for kids as well.
Among the top five paid apps on App store of Nook Colour are Astraware Mahjong, Quickoffice Pro, Angry Birds, Drawing Pad and Aces Jewel Hunt The.
Among the numerous Android tablets that have already been released this year, Nook Color has made a mark as a tablet even when it calls itself just an e-reader. This is primarily because it is designed first for the purpose of reading books.
