Along with the new iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch 2, the company also unveiled one of its kind wireless Apple Airpods which are essentially a pair of wireless earphones. In terms of the design, these are quite similar to the wired ones.
Apple claims that the wireless Airpods contains there unique W1 chips for high quality media playback with reliable connection. These earphones have Infrared sensors which detect when the Airpods are fitted in your ear and plays content accordingly.
Moreover, these also come equipped with motion accelerometers which can detect your tap. This tap feature enables users to access Siri with a double tap and also ask questions, thanks to the voice Accelerometer present there as well.
Battery life is something which plays a key role in wireless headsets. Each airpod, according to the company, can last up to 5 hours. Further, you must be wondering how these airpods are charged. For that, Apple has included a unique charging case which give more than 24 hours of battery life. So the compact charging case is what needs to be charged with the wall adapter.
To automatically connect the device with your iPhone, you need to pop open the charging case with ear pods present in it.
Phill Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of global marketing said: “AirPods are the first headphones to deliver a breakthrough wireless audio experience, and with the new Apple W1 chip they deliver innovative features including high quality sound, great battery life and automatic setup.”
The Airpods work only with devices running iOS 10, watch OS 3 and macOS Sierra and will be selling in India starting October through various retail stores and ecommerce websites. Regarding the price, Apple launched these wireless airpods for $159 which is approximately Rs 15,400 but actual Indian price is likely to vary.
Well, it’s true this is something new but the question is, Will people buy this piece if technology at this price? Not to forget how easily these earphones can be lost.
