Apple to introduce 8 GB iPhone 5c in India soon

Reports point at the arrival of the 8 GB iPhone 5c model for Indian Market following the small time success of the 8 GB iPhone 4S sale.

Apple is set to introduce an affordable 8 iPhone 5c model with polycarbonate unibody shell for India. As of now, the iPhone 5c 8 GB model is being pushed to select regions only. However reports buzz that Apple is soon expected to introduce the 8 GB iPhone 5c in India at an attractive price point. Basically, Apple is trying out the same strategy recently used with the 8 GB iPhone 4S.

Apple iPhone 5c is sold in India at Rs 41,900 for 16 GB model and Rs 53,500 for 32 GB model. As per out estimate, the 8 GB iPhone 5c may be priced around Rs 31,500.

The 8.97 mm thick Apple iPhone 5c sports a polycarbonate unibody and weighs 132 grams. The iPhone 5c has a 4-inch based on the IPS panel technology and it bears 1136×640 pixel resolution. It also offers Oleophobic coating that minimises fingerprints on the screen.

At the back, the iPhone 5c has an 8 iSight camera with f/2.4 and five-element lens flaunting the Sapphire crystal lens cover. This camera allows capturing crisp images and full HD quality video. Its front facing camera enables the FaceTime HD for video calling. At its bottom lies a Lightning connector. The phone offers talk time of up to 10 hours on networks.

The iPhone 5c comes armed with the Apple 7 operating system that brings several new features for the iPhone 5c. While the iPhone 5c 8 GB model is already listed online for other regions, we shall have to wait for couple of weeks to see it in India. Also, we hope that the iPhone 5c 8G model is also eligible for the Global Warranty.

Apple did attract several consumers with the sale of 8GB iPhone 4S for aspirational price of about Rs 20,000. Since this strategy has worked with India with iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S, the arrival of iPhone 5C is not a surprise, unless Apple relaxes on the price a bit.
