Soon after Apple unveiled its new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, there were a lot rumours claiming that Apple has discontinued the older model of iPhones. This came up due to the fact that the company removed iPhone 5s, iPhon 6 and 6 Plus models from the Indian website.
However, as per a report of Times of India, Apple has discarded all such rumours about discontinuing any previous models. Instead the company claimed that these phones will be easily available on local retail stores.
However, Apple has changed the storage options for some of its existing models except the iPhone SE. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will no longer come in 16GB and 64GB storage options, instead now it will sell with 32GB and 128GB storage options. We hope Apple keeps the pricing same as before. iPhone SE though will still come at 16GB or 64GB option. iPhone 7 on the other hand was already launched in three storage options of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Apart from iPhones, the company is also implementing the same strategy on its tablet line up as well. Both the 12.9 inch and 9.7 inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi only models will come with 32GB, 128GB or 256GB storage options. Whereas, the WiFi + Cellular model of 12.9 inch iPad Pro will skip the 32GB variant and will sell with options of 128GB and 256GB options. 9.7 inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi + Cellular comes in with same options as Wi-Fi only variant.
Moving on, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 both will comes in two storage options – 32GB and 128GB irrespective of whether they are Wi-Fi models or Wi-Fi + Cellular models. iPad mini 2 though will only come with a single storage option of 32GB. So if you really want a 16GB model, you need to rush in order to grab some of the left out models from the last stock.
