At its Brooklyn event last month, Apple announced the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2018 with larger displays and smaller bezels. The latest iOS running tablets are now up for pre-order in India for a starting price of Rs 71,900 and will start shipping from November 16.
The new iPad Pro comes in two sizes – 11-inch and 12.9-inch, with no home button, smaller bezels and a Liquid Retina Display. The bezels on the display are significantly smaller and the display itself is a Liquid Retina Display that was previously found on the iPhone XR. Apple has implemented its Face ID technology that’s possible with the TrueDepth camera installed on the top bezel like the one on the iPhone X lineup.
The iPad Pro 2018 is powered by Apple’s latest A12X Bionic chip with 64GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of storage options. There’s a USB-C port, an 18W charger and up to 10 hours of battery life on the latest iPads. There’s a 12MP camera at the back capable of shooting 4K videos at 60fps and four sets of speakers delivering a wider stereo sound.
There’s also a brand new Apple Pencil which attaches to the iPad Pro magnetically and charges wirelessly. The Pencil comes with tap functions that let you switch between tools in productivity apps and perform other actions. Apple is also launching a Smart Keyboard Folio to allow the new iPad Pro to rest in for different angles of usage.
Apple has revealed the price of the 2018 iPad Pro in India, starting at Rs 71,900 for the base 11-inch 64GB variant with WiFi. The 12.9-inch version with the same configuration will be available for an asking price of Rs 89,900. The iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch will also be available in a 1TB WiFi + Cellular configuration for Rs 1,53,900 and Rs 1,71,900 respectively. In addition to the latest iPad Pros, Apple will also be selling the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard Folio (11-inch iPad Pro) for Rs 10,900 and Rs 15,900 (Rs 17,900 for 12.9-inch version) respectively.
