The wait is over. Apple’s iPad 2 is out. But was the wait worth it? What improvements or benefits does iPad 2 have over the original?
Well, to begin with, the answer is yes. There are many improvements that Apple has brought to the iPad. Version 2 is about 123 grams lighter, and 4.6 mm slimmer than its predecessor.
Apple’s next generation processor, Apple A5, powers this device, and according to the company, brings almost double the computing power along with a graphics engine, which is nine times more powerful than the previous one. It also reduces power consumption and keeps the device alive for 10 hours between charges.
A front facing VGA camera has been added, along with a 0.7 mega Pixel camera at the back, which can capture 720p video.
And, Apple’s smart cover accessory magnetically clings to the display of iPad 2 and protects it from scratches and smudges.
Over all, iPad 2 fills in gaps left by iPad 1 and is sure to delight the user, but with the market flooding with rumours about the launch of the third edition of iPad, buyers will have to take a calculated decision.
