Good News for Indian students, Apple has now extended the University Subscription Plan for Apple Music to India along with 24 other countries which are Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Chile, Colombia, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.
As of now, the individual subscription plan for Apple Music in India is Rs 120 per month but with the Student Subscription Plan, one can avail it at Rs 60 per month. Apart from this, Apple is also offering a Family Subscription Plan priced at Rs 190 per month which can be shared with six people.
Apple has further partnered with UNiDAYS to verify the eligibility of the user. One has to enter his/her email address and the name of the school/university in order to get verified. Once done, the discounted subscription plan for that student is activated. Not only this, UNiDAYS also keeps on monitoring the status of that student and after 48 months, the University Subscription Plan is automatically discontinued.
Apple first introduced its music service back in July 2015 with the subscription plan of Rs 120. To get the Apple Music on you Apple devices, you have to update your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to iOS 8.4, which is out now. Further, Apple Music is also available for Android as well but it is in beta stage as of now.
