OnePlus has finally released Android 6.0.1 marshmallow update for OnePlus X. The update comes with the build name OxygenOS 3.1.1 and brings a lot of features along with October’s security patch. As always, the update will be rolled out via OTA (over the air) and will take time to reach everyone.
Apart from some minor bug fixes and security patch, this update actually brings quite a few new features to the OnePlus X. OnePlus X, as we know, is no more manufactured by the company and its good to see OnePlus still supporting the device with updates. The new update, brings new icon packs, enhanced UI etc. There is also a wallpaper picker in the launcher itself. A new settings section has also been added. With this new update, OnePlus has also introduced its own Music Player and Gallery to the OnePlus X. The alert slider has also seen some customisation options. Last month, the OxygenOS 3.1.1 Community build also had the September security patch and had features like ability to move apps to SD card.
Unfortunately, OnePlus has confirmed that OnePlus X won’t be getting any VoLTE update for the famous Reliance Jio service. Unlike with the OnePlus X, OnePlus 2 did get the VoLTE update earlier this month which would enable the to enjoy free calling services from Reliance Jio.
Moreover, recently OnePlus also rolled out OxygenOS 3.2.6 update for its latest flagship OnePlus 3 which brought various camera improvements. Also, the company recently announced that it is merging its two Operating Systems – OxygenOS and HydrogenOS, which OnePlus claimed would enable them to release faster updates. So Android 7.0 Nougat update might well be the first update for OnePlus 3 after the merger of two Operating Systems.
