HMD Global has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo Beta for its Nokia 5 smartphone via Nokia Beta Labs. The update for the smartphone has been announced by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Officer at HMD Global in his official twitter handle.
Users can opt for the Oreo Beta developer preview by enrolling the supported devices through the Nokia Phone Beta Labs website. Once enrolled, the handsets will receive regular over-the-air (OTA) updates of all builds in the Android Oreo Developer Preview and when the next version of Android is released, the device will automatically update to the final version.
After Nokia 5, the Nokia 6 smartphone is also expected to get Android Oreo update soon as Sarvikas has already announced. With the latest update, the smartphone will have picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email.
