The is available on both Google PlayStore (Android) and App store (iOS). Further, if you are already subscribed to Amazon Prime, then you can start using the Prime Video without any additional cost. Further, users doesn’t even need to log in separately if they have Amazon app installed and logged in on their device.

As mentioned before, the Amazon Prime video is included in the earlier launched Prime subscription. So you get the video on demand service along with all the benefits we get under Amazon Prime Subscription. As of now, Amazon Prime costs Rs 499 per year making it about Rs 41 per month which is much cheaper than Netflix which costs you around Rs 500 – Rs 800 depending on your plan. Not only this, even Hotstar Premium starts at Rs 199. Ignoring the introductory offer (Rs 999 per year), the per month cost for the video streaming service from Amazon would still cost under Rs 100.

Further, you can access Amazon Prime Video in any country through Indian subscription. As an interesting fact, you can stream content from US in the United States just for Rs 499 per month where Amazon Prime Video costs $99 per year in the States.

Opening up the app, you will witness a mix bag of content. While the movies section looks impressive, TV Shows section has most of the content from outside India except few cartoon series. However, according to recent reports, Amazon is trying hard to get the streaming rights of IPL (Indian Premiere League) which would be a huge blow for other streaming services like Netflix and Hotstar at least in the Sports Streaming department. With an impressive price to content ratio, Amazon Prime Video is entering the building heads up high and would pose stiff competition for the likes of Netflix and Hotstar.
