Amazon has announced the launch of its Automated Messaging Assistant in Hindi to help users automatically resolve their queries through Amazon’s AI in the language of their preference. The news follows the introduction of a Hindi voice model to Alexa Skills Kit.
Powered by Amazon’s artificial intelligence platform, the updated Automated Assistant will now be able to reply in Hindi. The move comes as a means to break the language barrier and provide hassle-free support to an extended customer base in India.
Amazon says the conversation happens right inside the messaging window where the customer can naturally interact just as they would with a human. The company has also disclosed that the bot canseamlessly transition to a human assistant within the same window, whenever necessary.
With the latest announcement, users will be able to interact with Amazon’s messaging chatbot in Hindi. Amazon says the feature has been made possible through the company’s Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing capabilities as well as its service-tuned artificial intelligence platform.
Speaking about the announcement, Amazon India Customer Service Director, Akshay Prabhu said “When customers interact with the Automated Assistant, it first predicts the most likely issue they are trying to contact us for, post which customers can ask questions related to their issue and receive faster resolutions. By offering the Automated Assistant in Hindi, we are taking a big step towards localizing our post-order experience for Indian customers”.
Prabhu added “The new chat assistant in Hindi underlines our commitment to serving the next 100 million Indians to discover and shop with Amazon. We also see opportunities for scaling the messaging assistant as a contact channel —to increasingly resolving issues before a customer service associate is even involved”.
Amazon’s Hindi Messaging Assistant is available through the Amazon Shopping App on Android.
