Amazon introduces Sell as Individual, only available in Bangalore as of now

Though the service is only available in Bangalore as of now, but we expect the e-commerce giant to expand it to other cities soon.

India being one of the important markets, Amazon has now introduced its ‘Sell as Individual’ service to India. Though it is only available in Bangalore as of now, we expect the e-commerce giant to expand it to other cities soon. With this service, selling a pre-owned or used product will now become extremely easy. Further, Amazon will take care of pick-up, packaging and shipping in case your product makes a successful purchase.

In order to start selling, head on to the ‘Sell as Individual’ page and fill in a form asking you about the details of the product such as category, price, Product Title etc. In short, if you have been well versed with the likes of OLX and Quickr, then this will be no rocket science. Once you have fill in all the details and posted the ad, your product is now available for purchase on Amazon under the ‘Used’ category. After someone has made the purchase, Amazon will contact you and schedule a pickup. If the buyer returns the product, Amazon will ship it back to you and take care of the refund as well.

For all this service, Amazon will charge you Rs 10 per item if it is under Rs 1000, Rs 50 for an item valuing between Rs 1000 – Rs 5000 and Rs 100 for the item above Rs 5000.

Not only this, to promote this service, Amazon will add Rs 1,000 in the Amazon Pay Balance (earlier Amazon Gift Card) if you managed to sell a mobile phone, tablet or laptop or five books, video games, movies or music.

If you are not aware, Sell as Individual was previously restricted to Amazon’s subsidiary website Junglee. With the service making its way to Amazon India website, we might bid adieu to Junglee soon.
