Amazon has announced the launch of the all-new Amazon Fire 7 tablet as well as the Amazon Fire 7 Kids Edition with an upgraded Processor and more space. The Fire 7 and Fire 7 Kids Edition will be available for starting prices of $49.99 (approx. Rs 3,500) and $99.99 (approx. Rs 7,000) respectively.
The new Amazon Fire 7 tablet bears resemblance to its predecessors and has a 7-inch display with a Resolution of 1024×600 pixels and 171ppi Pixel density. The tablet comes with twice the storage as was available with previous models and offers 16GB storage and 32GB storage options, both of which are expandable to up to 512GB.
The Fire 7 is powered by an unknown processor clocked at 1.3GHz and is coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device is available in Black, Plum, Sage and Twilight Blue colours. There’s a 2MP camera on the front and back sides, both with 720p HD resolution. Amazon says the battery on the Fire 7 will last to up to seven hours. The tablet supports hands-free Alexa alongside all the usual Amazon Prime services built in.
Moving on the Amazon Fire 7 Kids Edition, the tablet offers the same specifications as the Fire 7 but comes with an additional rugged case and adjustable kickstand in order to be used by kids. The Kids Edition can only be purchased in a 16GB storage version but Amazon is offering a two-year worry-free guarantee, even if the tablet gets damaged.
The Kids Edition is equipped with a one-year FreeTime Unlimited subscription which offers access to over 20,000 apps, games, videos and educational content. The tablet comes in black colour with cases available in Pink, Blue and Purple colours.
