Amazon Echo Input launched in India for Rs 2,999

The Echo Input is just 12.5mm thick and it features a four-microphone array through which recognises the voice from across the room.

Amazon has today announced the launch of a new device that brings Alexa support for traditional speakers in India. Dubbed as Echo Input, the device is available from today at Amazon for Rs 2,999. It will also be available in Croma, Vijay Sales and other offline retailers.

The latest device can be connected to a normal speaker through a 3.5mm audio cable or via Bluetooth. The Echo Input is just 12.5mm thick and it features a four-microphone array through which recognises the voice from across the room.

Customers can use Alexa app, which is available on Apple Store and Google Play Store, to connect the device to the speakers. When connected to Echo Input, the speaker can be added to a new or existing multi-room music group. One can also adjust the volume of Echo Input with his/her voice.

In addition to Amazon Prime Music, Saavn and TuneIn customers can now listen to music from Hungama and Gaana which are available on Alexa starting today. Echo Input comes with launch offers from speaker brands such as Bose, JBL and UE Boom under which when you purchase Echo Input with select speakers from these brands, you can get up to Rs 2,999 off.
