Amazon has today introduced a host of new products powering its in-house personal assistant Alexa. The brand has launched a new Echo and Echo Plus smart speakers along with Echo Spot Alarm Clock and a new Fire TV with 4K HDR and Dobly Atmos audio support.
Echo and Echo Plus smart speakers
Amazon has introduced a second-generation of Echo speakers today. Starting with the new Echo, the speaker features a cylindrical shape and comes equipped with a 2.5-inch downward-firing woofer. The Bluetooth speaker comes with Dolby Digital and there is a new microphone technology that allows Voice commands to be picked from a distance quite accurately. The speaker comes loaded with Alexa and it can be used to trigger multiple actions like opening a garage door and more. The speaker comes with a starting price tag of $99 (approx. Rs 6,493) and it will be available in charcoal, sandstone, heather gray, oak veneer, walnut veneer and silver colour options.

Coming to Echo Plus, the smart speaker also doubles as a smart hub, which makes it easier to connect to compatible smart home devices. The speaker comes with a 360-degree omni-directional audio with Dolby processing that the company claims can provide deep bass and crisp high notes. The speaker also comes bundled with Philips Hue smart lightbulb and it will come with a starting price tag of $149 (approx. Rs 9,800).
Echo Spot
Echo Spot is a smart alarm clock which comes with a 2.5-inch circular display. The alarm clock can be used to play a video, display a watch face or to place video calls. The Echo Spot comes with a camera through which one can make video calls and it can be also used to control smart products in one’s home with the help of Alexa. The smart alarm clock comes with a price tag of $129.99 (approx. Rs 8,500) and it will be available in white and black colour options.
Fire TV with 4K HDR support
The company has also announced a new Fire TV with 4K HDR support. The TV comes quad-core Processor and is backed by a 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The company has revamped the design as well and it now comes in a new dongle design and yes, you get an Alexa remote as well. On the audio front, the Fire TV supports Dolby Atmos, 7.1 surround sound and more. One can also connect Fire TV to Echo smart speakers and it comes with a price tag of $69.99 (approx. Rs 4,600) and the device is up for pre-order in the US and will ship starting from October 25.

Other than this, the company has introduced a new Echo Connect, which is a speakerphone box that can be plugged into a landline and one can use Alexa to make phone calls via landline phone. The Echo Connect is priced at $35 (approx. Rs 1,500). The company has also introduced Echo Buttons at $20.
