After the launched its Echo speaker, Amazon has released its Alexa App as well.Amazon has decided to target the population of 1.3 Billion people in India with the launch of the latest Echo series and Alexa app. Further, the developers and engineers have given a makeover to the virtual assistant and it now understands Hinglish.
To start with, the Amazon Alexa application is available for the iOS and Android device on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Moving to Alexa’s makeover, the virtual assistant now uses the blend of Hindi and English. Now, She can refer to the living room as ‘drawing room’ and can add jeera (cumin), haldi (turmeric) and atta (flour) to your shopping list.
Other than this Alexa now knows when Independence Day is (August 15), not July 4(US Independence Day), and wishes listeners “Happy Diwali and a prosperous New Year!” Parag Gupta, Head of Product Management, Amazon Devices, India said, “We wanted our devices to talk, walk and feel Indian.”
