Huami has confirmed that a new Amazbit-branded smartwatch will be announced later this month. The company will introduce the Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3 at an event in China on August 27.
The news comes directly from Huami Technology who took to Weibo to announce that it will be introducing the Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3 on August 27 in China. The company also uploaded a posted which read “Run, Amazfit! Run!”, a quote from the Forrest Gump.
The teaser posted comes just a week after Huami VP posted an official render of what the Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3 looks like. At the time, the company executive explained that the upcoming smartwatch will come with an AMOLED display. The AMOLED panel will have a Pixel density of 341 ppi, higher than the 326 ppi Pixel density on the Apple Watch.
The Smart Sports Watch 3 is also expected to come with a faster Processor than the Smart Sports Watch 2. The watch will come with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, 5ATM (50m) water resistance and longer battery life than its predecessor.
While the Huami VP revealed that the Amazfit watch will be cheaper than Apple’s Watch Series 4, there’s no word whether the device will incorporate an ECG or Fall detection feature.
