A new Xiaomi smartphone bearing the model name ‘MCE16’ has reportedly passed the Compulsory Certification of China (3C), which is believed to be none other than Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship device, the Mi 6.
As per 3C certification listing, the phone will come with three charging output ratings which include 5V, 3A/9V, 2A/12V, 1.5A, with a minimum power rating of 15W and maximum of 18W resulting in Fast charging support.
The 3C certification date for the purported smartphone is of March 29 and the listing shows that the Mi 6 will support LTE connectivity.
Recently, Xiaomi Mi 6, Mi 6 Plus full specs sheets were leaked online which revealed that both the smartphones will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with Adreno 540 GPU. The Xiaomi Mi 6 will feature a 5.15-inch full HD screen with a screen Resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, while the elder sibling will boast a 5.7-inch screen but it will carry a similar 1080p resolution.
The Mi 6 will come in 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of UFS 2.0 storage option. The Plus variant will boast a 6GB of RAM and might come in two storage variant of 64GB and 128GB. On the camera front, the Mi 6 Plus will feature dual-camera setup with both sportings a 12-megapixel Sony IMX362 sensor, while for the front, there will be an 8-megapixel ultra Pixel shooter. The smartphone will be juiced by a large 4500mAh Li-Po battery.
The Mi 6 will come loaded with a 19-megapixel camera with Sony IMX400 sensor and 1/2.3-inch lens. For the front, there will be a similar 8-megapixel Ultra Pixel camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone will get its power from a 3200mAh battery. Lastly, the Mi 6 Plus will come loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat based on MIUI 8, while the smaller sibling is reported to come with an older Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
As for the pricing is concerned, a recent leak gives us a fair idea about the pricing of both the smartphones. The Mi 6 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage variant will cost you around 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs 18,992), 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage will be priced at 2299 Yuan (approximately Rs 21,831) and 6GB RAM with 128GB will be available for 2699 Yuan (approximately Rs 25,629).
The same report also suggest that Mi 6 Plus will come with 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage which are priced at 2599 Yuan which is approximately Rs 24,680, 2999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 28,478 and 3,499 Yuan which is approximately Rs 33,226 respectively.
Both the smartphones are reported to be unveiled either on April 11 or 16, however, it would be interesting to see whether the company will launch the Plus variant or not. We have no information as to when will Xiaomi Mi 6 make it to the Indian smartphone market. As for the past, company’s record of launching its smartphones in India has been pretty inconsistent.
