Earlier, BlackBerry Mercury (BBB100-1) was spotted on Geekbench website and GFXBench website. Moreover, a website named, ‘winfuture’ had also thrown some light on the expected specifications in the past. Now couple of alleged live images of the devices with physical keyboard has been spotted on Weibo, which is on the line of earlier statement of John Chen, BlackBerry CEO, who confirmed during an interview that the company is working on a new smartphone with physical keyboard.
As per earlier leaks and listing, the Blackberry Mercury aka BlackBerry BBB100-1 was listed with 12.1-inch display with resolution of 1620×1080 pixels on GFXBench website. However, as per website ‘winfuture’, there was a blog published on BlackBerry Italia with an image (see below) of Blackberry Mercury and as per the image, it supposed to be a smartphone with 4.5 inch screen and a physical keyboard and not a tablet of 12.1 inch display. Besides, as per the image, the handset has a fingerprint scanner integrated on the Space-button. Further, as per blog, the smartphone will be launched in February 2017.
Further, the smartphone will be powered by a 2.02 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB of RAM, and 32 GB of Internal storage. It will run on latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The Blackberry Mercury has a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash , and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chats, as per the listing. Besides, the smartphone offers WiFi, GPS, NFC, Proximity, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyroscope, Pedometer, and light sensor. Furthermore, as per Geekbench the phone scored 913 points in the single-core test and 5047 points in the multi-core.
Last month, Blackerry launched DTEK50 and DTEK60 Android smartphones in India at 21,990, and Rs 46,990 respectively.
