Dell’s flagship notebook subdivision Alienware has introduced the Alienware m15 ultra lightweight gaming notebook – the thinnest by Alienware at less than an inch. For its small form factor, the Alienware machine packs up to a Max Q graphics card from NVIDIA and a highly responsive display with reasonable specs for a gaming laptop. The Alienware m15 will be available for a starting price of $1,300 (approx. Rs 95,700).
The internals on the Alienware m15 can be configured to up to an Intel 8th gen six-core i7-8750H. Users can choose from either the overclocked NVIDIA GTX 1060 or the GTX 1070 MaxQ for powering the graphics. You can add up to1TB of SSD storage, 1TB of hybrid drive and 32GB of DDR4 RAM on the machine.
The Alienware m15 comes with a larger 15.6-inch display in contrast to the 13-inch panel on its processor. Users can personalise their display with a 1080p 60Hz unit, a 1080p 144Hz display or a 4K 60Hz panel.
Besides the internals, the USP of the Alienware m15 comes through its magnesium alloy-made seeding which weighs in at 2.1 kgs. Measuring in at 21 x 363 x 275mm, the m15 is the thinnest gaming laptop in its segment and is fitted with customisable LED strips to give a space-like feeling.
Alienware has provided users of the m15 notebook with two battery options – a standard 60-watt cell and a 90-watt cell, the latter of which is claimed to give you 10.6 hours of video playback on a single charge. The idle times available for both the batteries stand at 13.4 hours and 17 hours each.
Connectivity options are provided through two USB 3 Type-A ports, one USB-C/Thunderbolt port, HDMI 2.0, Mini DisplayPort 1.2, Alienware Graphics Amplifier, audio out and a Headphone jack.
