Chinese handset vendor, Alcatel has formally launched OneTouch Idol X+ octa core smartphone in India for Rs 16,999. The smartphone would be available only from Flipkart, the online retailer. The Chinese vendor though will have hard time selling the Idol X+ as there already few good octa core phones in the market like the Micromax Canvas Knight, Karbonn Titanium Octane, Intex Aqua Octa, and iBerry Nuclea X.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ features a 5 inch touchscreen with full HD resolution. This display has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection and Oleophobic coating. There is a 13.1 megapixel camera and an LED flash in the rear panel of Idol X+ while a 2 megapixel camera is in its front. This rear camera can capture full HD videos in 30 frames per second.
The handset runs on Android Jelly Bean operating system and comes with 2 GHz octa core processor. This dual SIM smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, WiFi, micro USB 2.0, and FM radio. It comes in 16 GB internal storage option and 2 GB RAM. This phone has a 2500 mAh battery that claims to provide 16 hours of 3G talktime.
