The hotly contested budget smartphone market heated up a bit more today as Alcatel has announced the launch of its new feature rich smartphone, the Flash 2, in India at Rs 9,299.
The new Alcatel Flash 2 comes with the Android 5.1 operating system and a powerful 64 bit octa core processor as well as 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The handset has 16 GB of inbuilt memory as well as an expandable storage slot that can hold a micro SD card of up to 128 GB.
The Flash 2 offers a 5 inch HD IPS display and weighs 143 grams with a 3000 mAh battery that claims to offer 10 hours of 3G talktime. This dual SIM (dual standby) smartphone offers 4G connectivity (compatible with both TDD and FDD technologies), WiFi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, Micro USB port and FM radio with RDS.
The Alcatel Flash 2 measures 145.8*70.4*8.99 mm. It has velvet touch finishing and comes in volcanic grey colour. There is a dedicated camera key in the Flash 2 too.
While announcing the launch, Alcatel claimed that the phone’s “13 Megapixel f/2.0 rear camera provides sharper and clearer pictures. The accompanying RealTone dual flash gives an extra advantage in low light conditions while maintaining the colours as true as possible to real life’.
The handset was first unveiled in China last month.
