Airtel offers a wide range of OTT apps with its Broadband plans for free, meaning it doesn’t cost you anything extra to access apps like SonyLIV. However, in its latest move, Airtel has decided that it will no longer be offering access to more than twelve OTT apps for its broadband users for free, thanks to the introduction of Airtel Xstream Lite plan.

Airtel XStream Lite: Which users are affected?
As reported by TelecomTalk, Airtel Xstream Fiber customers on the Rs 499 and Rs 799 plans (non-Black) and Rs 998 and Rs 1098 (Airtel Black users) will be shifted from Xstream Premium to Xstream Lite plan. While this would be a bad news for new users, those who claimed access from the Airtel Thanks App or will claim access before March 31, 2023 won’t be a part of the change. In other words, these users will not be downgraded to the Lite plan.
Broadband users who plan to claim Xstream service from April 1 will only be able to claim the Xstream Lite plan. The validity of its Lite plan will be one year, similar to the Xstream Premium plan. The Lite plan will not be charged for. Airtel will continue to offer its Xstream Premium plan for other Xstream FIber customers who subscribe to plans with higher prices than Rs 1,098.
