Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of a new Prepaid plan for its users in India. Dubbed as Rs 597 pack, the plan is meant to compete against Reliance Jio.
The Rs 597 plan from Airtel offers voice calling benefits for the long-term and it comes with a validity of 168 days, reports TelecomTalk. However, it offers only 10GB of data for the entire period. The plan offers unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit. Apart from this, the user will also get 100 SMS per day for 168 days, so it will offer 16800 total SMSes.
Further, the report says that the pack will only be available for users in a few regions and may not be launched as an open market plan.
The new plan is second after long-term plan after Rs 995 plan which was launched earlier this year which comes with a validity of 180 days. Under this offer, users will get unlimited voice calls on local and STD network along with free national Roaming calls. The pack, on the downside, offers just 1GB of 3G/4G data per month along with 100 SMS per day.
Airtel Rs 597 plan competes directly with Reliance Jio Rs 999 plan which offers unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS messages per day. The Jio plan, however, comes with 90 days validity and it offers a total of 60GB 4G data. Also, the Jio plan is available in the open market. On the other hand, Airtel Rs 597 plan comes with better validity than Jio Rs 999 plan.
