Bharti Airtel, India’s largest mobile service operator, has launched 1-day Bridge DataRoamUnlimited, a new international data Roaming plan for its postpaid mobile customers.
By subscribing to this, Airtel postpaid mobile customers will be able get unlimited data roaming at Rs 500 (approximately US$10) a day for their travels within the Asia Pacific region.
Bridge DataRoamUnlimited plan offers data roaming across 11 Bridge Alliance member operator networks in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
“Airtel’s launch of Bridge DataRoamUnlimited takes the alliance to the next level of expanded coverage and presence in the region,” said Ken Wee, acting chief executive officer and vice president of Infrastructure & Operations, Bridge Alliance.
To activate or subscribe to Bridge DataRoamUnlimited, Airtel postpaid mobile customers can simply contact the Airtel customer service before their next overseas trip.
Bridge DataRoam plans and services are now available for subscription with all the Bridge Alliance member operators – Airtel (India), AIS (Thailand), CSL (Hong Kong), Globe Telecom (Philippines), Maxis (Malaysia), SK Telecom (Korea), SingTel Mobile (Singapore), Telkomsel (Indonesia), CTM (Macau), and Taiwan Mobile (Taiwan).
The plan will be charged based on USD conversion rates (Rs 500 is approximate value of $10) and local taxes will be extra.
