Airtel brings 900Mhz 4G LTE technology to Assam, Northeast

Airtel says that 900Mhz 4G band will have high values of propagation, higher reach and high-speed data capacity from the latest development. The latest network enhancement is done by deploying LTE 900 technology throughout cities in the Northeast including Guwahati, Shillong, Agartala, Imphal and Itanagar.

In an effort to boost its userbase in the region, Airtel has expanded its network coverage in Assam and North East by bringing 900 technology. With the deployment of 900Mhz 4G LTE technology, Airtel aims to improve the network coverage of 4G inside building including malls, offices and homes.

Airtel says that 900Mhz 4G will have high values of propagation and a higher reach and the company also plans to gain some high-speed data capacity from the latest development.

Besides boosted indoor coverage, Airtel has also revealed that with the use of the 900Mhz 4G band, Airtel 4G will be available to a wider area across the North East. The latest network enhancement is done by deploying LTE 900 technology throughout cities in the Northeast including Guwahati, Shillong, Agartala, Imphal and Itanagar.

Prior to this, the 900Mhz band was available on a smaller basis with most of the userbase utilising the TD LTE(2,300Mhz) and FD LTE(1,800Mhz) bands. Airtel also deploys 4G Advanced and Carrier Aggregation for better high-speed network capacity and coverage.

Speaking about the latest LTE 900 deployment, Bharti Airtel, Assam and North East CEO, Raveendra Desai said “Our endeavour is to deliver quality network experience to our customers. The deployment of LTE 900 will further boost Airtel 4G coverage, particularly inside homes and buildings. Airtel smartphone customers will enjoy seamless high-speed data and quality calling experience on our upgraded network. We will continue to invest in the deployment of the latest network technologies to delight our customers”.
