Mobile telephony service provider Aircel will be launching 3G services in 13 circles before Feb 19, the day when the Cricket World Cup tournament commences.
Gurdeep Singh, chief operating officer, Aircel, on the side-lines of an event said, “We will be launching 3G services across 13 telecom circles where we have won spectrum in a phased manner before the start of World Cup.”
He further added, “The reason behind launching the 3G services before world cup is to make our subscribers experience the World Cup cricket matches on their mobile phones.”
Regarding the 3G tariffs he said, “We will offer affordable tariffs as India a very competitive market.”
Among the other telcos, Tata Docomo, BSNL, MTNL and Airtel have already rolled out their 3G services.
