Aircel expands 3G coverage to AP, Kerala, J&K

Aircel now provides 3G services in Hyderabad, Cochin, Srinagar, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Guwahati and Bhuwaneshwar.

Aircel has launched mobile and data services in three more circles in Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad), Kerala (Cochin) and Jammu and Kashmir (Srinagar), taking the tally to ten.
Earlier, the teleco has earlier launched the services in Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Guwahati and Bhuwaneshwar.

Aircel had bagged 3G spectrum in 13 circles — Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kolkata, West Bengal, UP (East), Assam, North-East, Orissa, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and Bihar.

It will cover the remaining towns and rural areas in these circles within the next nine months.

Gurdeep Singh, chief operating officer, Aircel, said, “The youth comprise over 50 percent of the country’s population and are among active internet users and also avid users of Facebook, YouTube and other social networking sites. The launch of 3G services on Aircel will address the high speed digital needs of the consumers thus unleashing the power of the Internet further creating opportunities for education, employment, engagement and entertainment which will empower the consumers and impact their Lifestyle.”

Aircel has kept the base rate of 3G data plans at 3paise per 10KB. There are also dynamic bundled plans for the students, executives, and heavy users.

At an all inclusive price of Rs 132, Rs 252, Rs 502 and Rs 802 the consumers can enjoy 75MB, 150MB, 350MB and 1024MB data respectively for a month with inbuilt voice and SMS. Aircel has also announced attractive data plans which ensure high speed experience at Rs 92 for 100 MB.

Aircel’s 3G Pocket Internet also let users to watch their favorite movie songs or dialogues of favorite stars by dialing 56666; they will enjoy watching a plethora of TV channels live on Aircel 3G network in multiple languages.

Aircel is a joint venture between Malaysian telecom operator Maxis Communications Berhad and the Apollo Hospitals Group.
